THE Mines Resort and Golf Club is all set to play host to one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year in the country – the Asia Pacific Classic Malaysia.
With a compelling list of world-class golfers today having their practice round and Pro-Am in the afternoon, you can see the club is alive. The putting green and the driving range were full of golf enthusiasts eagerly watching their favourite players practising.
The 300 Volunteers were having their last preparation on the site. They come from various countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia.
Preparations for the inaugural tournament are having their last touch whilst the pro-Am were progressing. The drizzles helps abuzz with mounting excitement as the marquees and exhibition booths are being erected for the tournament.
Spectators and golf enthusiasts can expect an exciting activities at the public village, which include a PGA Tour simulator presented by CIMB Group, an activity corner for children as well as an inflatable driving range. There will also be daily putting and chipping competitions with attractive prizes to be won.
In addition to the public village, there will be a range of golf merchandise available for sale as well as a public catering area with big screen televisions for public viewing.
Visitors can access the course through three entrances – the main entrance of the Exhibition Centre, the Waterfront Park and, for hotel guests, the Palace of the Golden Horses. Free shuttle buses running from Waterfront Park via the Palace of the Golden Horses to the main entrance. Besides, shuttle Boat are available across the lake from Waterfront Park to the main entrance at a minimal fee.
Drop off zones for spectators have also been allocated next to the main entrance and in front of the Exhibition Centre.
