Conditions of Competition
1. NAME OF COMPETITION
Sarawak Inter-Community Golf 2010 (SICG), YB Dato Sri William Mawan Championship Trophy.
2. DATE ; VENUE & STARTING TIME
The Sarawak Inter-Community Golf 2010 will be played at Matang/ Santubong for Gross event and Guests category and Siol/Demak for Nett event on Saturday, 23RD October, 2010, at Kelab Golf Sarawak, Petra Jaya, Kuching. Tee-off shall be based on shotgun starting at 7.45 am.
3. RULES OF COMPETITION
The competition will be held according to Rules of Amateur Status approved by the Royal and Ancient Golf of St. Andrews and local rules as decided by the Organising Committee.
4. ELIGIBILITY
a) Any individual golfer aged 21 and above, with a valid NHS handicap is eligible to participate and represent his ethnic group.
b) Appointed Captains from each ethnic group shall be responsible to ensure the ethnicity of the players under the groups is bona fide golfers of ethnic Malaysian origin. Contravention will result in the individual or team being disqualified. With effect from 2009 entry, any player who has represented a particular Community will not be allowed to represent any other Community.

Gross and Nett Participants Respectively
Iban 10, 20
Bidayuh 10, 20
Orang Ulu 10, 20
Malay 10, 20
Chinese 10, 20
Melanau 10, 20
Invited Guests: 60 golfers (32 Community Guests)

(8 Sabah Guests)
(12 Ladies Guests)
5. Format
The Championship will be decided by stroke play over 18 holes for all categories.
a) Team Event
Each team shall consist of 30 players from the same community whereby 10 players shall play under the Gross Category with a valid NHS Handicap of 24 and below.
Gross event : The 5 best Gross aggregate scores shall be the winning team.
The winner of the Gross Event shall be awarded the SICG, YB Dato Sri William Mawan Championship Trophy (Gross).
Nett event : The 10 best Nett aggregate scores shall be the winning team.
The winner of the Nett Event shall be awarded the SICG, YB Dato Sri William Mawan Championship Trophy (Nett).
b) Individual Event
Gross Category : The Best 5 Scores
Nett category : The Best 10 Scores
c) Invitation Category
This category is opened to invited individuals. The format of play is based on Stableford.
6. PRIZES
The SICG 2010, YB Dato Sri William Mawan Championship will compromise of 2 trophies, one each for Gross and Nett winning teams.
Gross event : The winning team will be awarded the SICG, YB Dato Sri
William Mawan Championship Trophy – Gross Champion.

Novelty Prizes:
a) Nearest the Pin and Line (Matang/Santubong) – 1 prize each.
b) Nearest the Pin and Line (Siol/Demak) – 1 prize each.
Notes: Members of winning teams are eligible for individual prizes. All participants
shall be eligible for Novelty prizes and individual events.
7. TRANSPORTATION
Players shall use buggies on twin sharing basis.
8. TEE OFF TIME
Shot gun starts at 7.45 a.m. The player should arrive at the respective teeing grounds 10 minutes before starting time.
“If the player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within 5 minutes after his starting time, in the absence of circumstances which warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification as provided in rule 33-7, the penalty for failure to start on time is 2 strokes. Penalty for lateness beyond 5 minutes is “DISQUALIFICATION”.
a. Gross and Invitation Categories will Tee-Off at Matang/Santubong Courses.
b. Nett Category will Tee-Off at Siol/Demak Courses.
9. DECIDING TIES
In the event of a tie, the tie shall be decided by a count back system of matching score cards in the following order:
For individual event,
I. Last 9, 6, 3 holes and finally the last hole.
II. If the tie is still undecided, it shall be decided by lot.
For Team Event
The lowest aggregate scores shall be used to match. In the event of a tie, the
Lowest aggregate scores of 3, then 1 player (for Gross Category) and 5, 3, then 1
players (For Nett Category) shall be used.
10. SERIOUS BREACH OF ETIQUETTE
A penalty of DISQUALIFICATION under Rule 33-7 will be imposed if the Committee determines that a player has committed “serious breach of etiquette” as follows:-
a) Use of hand phone or other means during the stipulated round to disturb or distract players.
b) Verbal abuse of fellow competitors, officials or staff.
c) Other unbecoming conduct or behaviour.
11. PARTICIPATION FEE
The entrance fee shall be RM 150.00 per participant.
12. INCLEMENT WEATHER AND SUSPENSION OF PLAY DUE TO DANGEROUS
SITUATION
In the event that inclement weather should preclude the completion of this tournament, the organizing committee will meet immediately and notify the participants of its decision.

13. MANAGEMENT OF CHAMPIONSHIP
The SICG Championship shall be managed by the Tournament Committee whose decisions in all matters relating to the championship shall be final.
