Ben Crane Towering in the second day

Text Size : [+] | [-]

Crane is currently tied for first place at the second round of the CIMB Asia Pacific Classic, Malaysia alongside Thai player Pariya Junhasavasdikulat 11-under-par 131, making this the first ever tournament to witness a PGA TOUR player and an Asian Tour player tied for the first spot.

Although only one-shot shy of the newly renovated Mines Resort & Golf Club’s in-house record of 63 set by 18-hole leader, Ricky Barnes, Crane sits atop the leader board after a sensational round of seven-under-par 64. Coming off a win at the Farmers Insurance Open at the beginning of the 2010 season, Crane looks to be in great shape with a bogey free round to head into the weekend at 11-under.

Overnight leader Ricky Barnes (69) and Ryan Moore (68), both from the United States, were both a stroke back, followed next by Carl Pettersson (68) in fifth place.
