Golf tournament to raise fund for new dialysis machines

KUCHING: The Waqaf An-Nur clinic welfare golf tournament circuit which starts on March 27 is expected to raise RM20,000 for new dialysis machines.Disclosing this yesterday, Waqaf An-Nur Corporation (WANCorp) director Ahamad Mohamad said Head of State Tun Abang Muhammad Salahuddin together with 128 golfers are expected to take part.
The entry fee is RM200. At stake are 10 main prizes and 19 consolation prizes worth RM10,000.
There are five novelty prizes, including one for a hole in one.
Organised by WANCorp in collaboration with the Kuching Specialist Hospital and Malaysian Islam Chambers of Commerce (MICC) Sarawak branch, the tournament into its second year will be held at the Sarawak Golf Club.
Apart from Kuching, the circuit comprises six other courses at Shah Alam, Port Dickson, Batu Pahat, Ulu Tiram, Ipoh and Pasir Gudang.
Ahamad revealed the tournament was to raise funds for two of its clinics at Satok and Samariang, set up with the cooperation of Baitulmal Fund Sarawak.
Ahamad welcomes donations from individuals, corporate bodies and agencies in the form of money, prescriptions and dialysis machines which can be send directly to Kuching Specialist Hospital or Baitulmal Fund Sarawak.
Waqaf An-Nur has set up clinics at 13 locations in West Malaysia and two in Kuching, managed by KPH Healthcare Berhad and open to the public.
The organisation has five dialysis centres with 42 machines at its branch in Kota Raya, Batu Pahat, Senawang, Kuching and its hospital located at Pasir Gudang.
Also present at yesterday’s event were KWAN Corporation deputy general manager Shahrumi Aslam, Kuching Specialist Hospital general Manager Yasser Arafat, MICC Sarawak branch chairman Haidel Heli and Kelab Golf Sarawak committee member Abdul Jalil Abdul Rahman
Cash donations can be made through Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad at 1014010022202 to the name Dana Klinik Waqaf An-Nur’ or send SMS by typing ‘WAQAF followed by space before typing RM2, RM5 or RM10 and send it to 33321.
