SUKIMAN'S HOUSE FLOODED

Today's continuous downpours coupled with King Tide peaking 5.8 metres (4.35 pm) caused water level to rise in the city and Petra Jaya area. Tomorrow, the tide will reach it 'king' level at 5.28 pm for 6.2 meters.

Batu Kawa, Batu Kitang to Bau were the worst hit areas and the Kuching Barrage started reducing the level as early as 5.30 pm when the tide started receeding. Photos below show Sukiman's house, where his parent stayed at Kpg No 6 under water. Sukiman's wife said: " We fear the crocodile more than the flood water.."
