How much is the 2008 monthly subscription fee to be paid prior to the tournament?
Dear anonymous @7.09 am
You have to pay one year (2008)amounting to RM60.00 only.Cheap lah
Omar
The committee should strictly enforce that only members who have paid the annual membership subscription fee in advance should be invited to play in any PGABS sanction club. It is not ethical to pay just to be able to play in the President Cup.
There are loyal (paying) members but are not able to play.
If there are these standing rules then all members are loyal members.
Food for thought.
Mr Secretary. There are a lot of issues to be addressed on the tournament:-
a) eligibility to play (why those HCAP above 24 is still allowed to play notwithstanding they are prepared to play at 24). In addition, those caddy from KGS, are they having valid HCAP by MGA? I'm a bit puzzle as some of them are not allowed to play during the recent ASTRO tournament since they do not have valid HCAP from MGA. To be fair, please let other members with handicap above 24 to play too. We can held the tournament for 2 days.
b) where is the breakfast? It is the most important meal of the day.
c) RM150 fee is for what?
d) RM60-00 fee (RM5-00 monthly which being annualized). Mun sik main sik perlu bayar kah? May we know your collection method for those not playing on that day?
e) AGM : The debate from the so called 'LEGAL ADVISOR' is too long and often out of topic. Well, he is not the only professional at PGABS. We have other professionals such as accountant, engineers, etc.
f) Prizes not bad at all.
g) Buggy (bagus gik mek makei keta lembu) is too bad for a tournament like the president cup. We may ask DAMAI to improve the condition as DAMAI is our home ground.
Suggestion:-
1) We may organise quarterly tournament for members. For example for a fee of RM150 (including breakfast please). Prizes no need to be high end.
2) Is it possible to organise matchplay or team event between members of PGABS rather than joining the KGS team event. Don't you think its a good idea. Easily we may have at least 10 teams to compete. This + SASKE + President cup could be on yearly basis.
Dear Anonymous @ 2:06pm,
Thanks for your comments and feedbacks. Personally I agree with you there are many issues need to be addressed not only with regards PresCup but also other PGABS activities.
a). It was all along mentioned that only members with valid handicap 24 and below are eligible to play. It was also clearly stated in the application form. I cannot disregard some KGS caddies as they are also the members of PGC. As we did not detect these false declaration (if any) earlier, I will sure bring this issue to our AJK meeting next week.
Having 2 days tournament a day is enormously tiring for AJK and our coffer.
b) The Committee decided to shift the breakfast to be served during the AGM (However we found the DGCC failed to deliver their promised) Our budget shows that we are in fat deficit if we further provide the breakfast. I admitted that it should be known to golfers prior to the game.
c). RM150 equals to DGCC (green fees+buggy + Lunch + Admin= RM100) + prizes + Goodies. At the end of the count, we are still running at deficit. After deducting amout due to DGCC, we are only left with approximately RM4,000 plus RM3,300 on subscription making the total income of approx RM7,300 which is barely enough to cover the cost of the goodies. The cost of prizes is YET to be accounted for.
d) The onus to pay the subscription fees lies with the members, not within the ambits of committee members. We are not able to remind the members to update their arrears as we have no proper staffing like KGS or DGCC. Our effort of sending reminders last year inflicted may issues and complaints. Collecting the subscription during the tour is obviously NOT the only but one of the method.
e). I agree with you that the argument during AGM were sometime diverted and cost us the times. It should be confined to the agenda. However, let us take their points positively for the love of our PGABS. Let us put it like this: some people expressed their love differently. For instant, a lawyer expresses by way of pointing technical/legal issues. A banker may look at the accounting issues and a businessman inclined to the profit and deficit issues.
f).Prizes - Thanks to Haji Sabry who was assigned to make the purchase.
g). If not for the buggy problem, we can have 120 peoples on the field. I do not want to encroach DGCC backyard as we are their partner in our strategic partnering. I heard the budget for additional buggies had been approved by SEDC. However, if the buggy problem is not solved by the next game, I am thinking of playing with caddy instead of buggy.
Your suggestion refers:
1.We are already thinking within the same line. As our members are sporadic in nature, we may use different format. I will bring this request to our meeting. But dont be so obssessed about the breakfast. Looking at it holistically, DGCC want us to patronised their coffee house in return for good rate for our members. Personally, I dont promise any breakfast in future provided we have enough fund. RM5.00 per pax per breakfast is things of the past. We must remold and change our mindset in-loco with the changing environment.
2. Your idea of having PGABS-organised matchplay is a briliant one and a sign of thinking outside the box. I will be talking with DGCC if they could be a partner to this event.
I hope there are many people like you who are willing to give solution rather than commotion.
I respect you, brother
Regards- Omar

Dear Sec,
You are good at handling questions. Personal question if you dont mind. What is your degree and what U you attended? I am impressed, sir.
