Closing date extended for charity tourney
KUCHING : Waqaf An-Nur clinic which organises the charity golf championship at the Damai Golf and Country Club (DGCC) on Nov 1 has extended the closing date for entries until today.Previously the closing date which was set on Oct 28 has seen an overwhelming response from avid golfers to join in the fourth leg of the circuit for a good cause.The organisers expected to collect a total of RM800,000 from the event where the proceeds will go directly to the clinic located along Jalan Haji Taha, here, which is running on the Waqaf concept.The fund will also be used to open up of new branches in Sarawak.

The leg is organised by Kumpulan Waqaf An-Nur Berhad (KWANB) and Kuching Specialist Hospital (KCSH) in collaboration with the Bumiputera Amateur Golf Association (PGABS).The next leg (5th) will see the championship being played at Pasir Gudang, Johor on Nov 29 and at Shah Alam for the final leg on Dec 6.The clinic, a sister company of KPJ Healthcare, started operations on Feb 19 this year and to-date had treated more than 1,000 patients.Meanwhile, the entry fee is RM200, and those interested can call Zabidi Shabaneh, PGABS at 019-817 7786 or Zainuddin Akub, 013-8161190.
