YB FADILLAH CHALLENGE TROPHY 2008

Conditions of Competition

1. RULES
The Rules of The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and the Local Rules of Kelab Golf Sarawak govern play.

2. THE COMMITTEE

YB FADILLAH CHALLENGE TROPHY 2008’s Tournament Committee reserves the right to make any alterations to the terms and conditions of this event as it deems fit. It shall also adjudicate any claims, protests or disputes and its decision shall be final.

3. DATE & VENUE
The YB FADILLAH CHALLENGE TROPHY 2008 will be played on
· Saturday, 15th November, 2008
· KGS Matang & Santubong courses
· SHOTGUN START at 7.45a.m SHARP
· Breakfast will served from 6.00am

4. ELIGIBILITY

An amateur golfer and must be a registered voter in respective constituencies to represent their team of DUN N6, N7 & N8, with a current USGA handicap according to their categories:-

· Categories A: handicap 0 – 12 ( USGA Index 11.1 & below)
· Categories B: handicap 13 – 20 ( USGA Index 11.2 – 18.2)
· Categories C: handicap 21 – 36 ( USGA Index 18.1 – 32.4)

Exemption 1:- *The representative teams are allowed to have two (2) “Import Player” for each category of A, B, & C, and the “import players” must be a registered voter from P194 PETRA JAYA constituencies.

Exemption 2:- *A player is allowed to represent other than his original registered voting constituency, provided that he is an EXCO MEMBER for the RANTING or CAWANGAN in the constituency (in P194 PETRA JAYA) that he represented.

In the event that a player has more than one handicap, then his lowest handicap shall be declared for the Tournament. It is sole responsibility of the respective players to declare their correct lowest handicap. Failure to comply shall result in the disqualification for the team & nett event. Players without valid USGA or MGA handicap index will only qualify the individual gross event.

Golfers playing for their respective team MUST register and submit their form through their TEAM CAPTAIN.

Tournament Entries are limited to:-
· 30 players from TEAM N6 TUPONG (Red & White Colour)
· 30 players from TEAM N7 SAMARIANG (White Colour)
· 30 players from TEAM N8 SATOK (Purple Colour)
· 30 players from VIP & Sponsors INVITATIONS

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry at its absolute discretion.

5. FORMAT
YB FADILLAH CHALLENGE TROPHY 2008 is a Team Event tournament between team from N6 Tupong, N7 Samariang & N8 Satok. The Championship Team shall be decided on the total gross score of stroke play mode for 15 players, taking into account of the best 5 players from each Category A, B & C.
In the event of tie for a team winner, it shall be decided on count back in the following order of total gross of Categories A, B & C.

Individual event is a stroke play nett over gross event.
· Eligible to all, including VIP & Invitations categories.
· If player has more than one golf handicap then his lowest handicap shall be used for the nett event. It is the sole responsibility of the competitors to declare their lowest handicap. Failure to comply shall result in disqualification in the individual nett & team event.

In the event of a tie, it shall be determined by a count back system, as recommended by R & A Rules Limited, as adopted by KGS TOURNAMENT RULES, in the following order of the last 9, 6, 3 & the last holes.

6. CLOSING DATE
All entries must be submitted not later than 12:00 Noon on Monday, 10th November 2008, with entrance fee by their respective TEAM CAPTAIN to Encik Morshidi Said ( mobile no 013 8051 971), at Pusat Khidmat Ahli Parlimen P194, 229G, Lot 2147, Tingkat 2, Jalan Astana, 93050 PETRA JAYA KUCHING. 7. ENTRY FEE
Players (except invited guests) are required to pay an entrance fee of:
RM 100.00 each (Inclusive of Buggy Fee).
There will be no refund for any cancellation after the closing date.

Caddie Fee is RM50.00, shall be paid by the player (who wish to engage their services) to their caddie after completion of the game

8. DRAW
The draw for the competition shall be performed by the Organising Committee on Wednesday, 12th November 2008 and be posted on the next day at KGS Golf Competition Board & to the Team’s Captain.

The Organising Committee reserves the right to vary the draw and starting times at its absolute discretion.

9. PRIZES
The YB FADIILLAH CHALLENGE TROPHY will be awarded to the Champion Team for the Year of 2008.

INDIVIDUAL EVENTS (Nett over gross)
· 10 nett & 5 Gross

Each competitor is eligible to win one main prize only. If he/she is in contention for a prize in both the Gross and Nett event, he/she will be awarded the better of the two prizes in terms of value. If there is a hole-in-one prize arranged, the prize is to be shared equally should there be more than one winner.

10. TIME OF STARTING
“If the player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within 5 minutes after his starting time, in the absence of circumstances which warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification as provided in rule 33-7, the penalty for failure to start on time is 2 strokes in stroke play. Penalty for lateness beyond 5 minutes is “DISQUALIFICATION

11. TRANSPORTATION
Players shall use buggies on twin sharing basis.

12. INCLEMENT WEATHER & SUSPENSION OF PLAY DUE TO DANGEROUS SITUATION
In the event that inclement weather should preclude the completion of this tournament, the organising committee will meet immediately and notify the participants of its decision.
· Discontinue play immediately: One prolonged note of siren.
· Discontinue play: Three consecutive notes of siren, repeated.
· Resume of play: Two short notes of siren, repeated.

13. MOBILE PHONES
The use of mobile phone during a stipulated round will be subject to a penalty of DISQUALIFICATION.

14. RETURN OF SCORE CARDS
Players shall return their scorecards as soon as they have finished the game.

15. PRIZE PRESENTATION & DINNER

Prize presentation and Dinner will be at
· HOLIDAY INN KUCHING (Pool Side)
· Time 7.30pm on Saturday, 15th November, 2008
· Dress Code - Casual Smart with floral theme for the night
( No T-shirt & Denim Jeans )

16. CLOSE OF COMPETITION
The Championship shall be deemed to have closed when the trophy/prize has been presented to the winner or, in the absence of a prize giving ceremony, when all scores have been approved by the Organising Committee
