KUCHING: The annual Sarawak Bumiputera Amateur Golfers Association President’s Cup tees off this Sunday at Damai Golf and Country Club here.
About 120 players are expected to vie for 18 prizes worth more than RM20,000.
“There will be 10 prizes in the nett category, five in the gross category and three ‘special guests’ prizes,” association deputy president Datuk Mazelan Bugo told reporters.
“A return ticket to Melbourne is also up for grabs for a hole-in-one,” he said, adding that goodie bags worth RM300 each would be presented to all participants.
Airod Malaysia, a Peninsula-based aircraft maintenance company, is sponsoring the prizes. Its director Ed Sullaiman Tan Sri Ahmad presented the sponsorship to Mazelan yesterday.
The association, set up in November 1997, has close to 300 members throughout Malaysia.
The association also organises other yearly events like the Saske and Muhibah Games besides a few charitable efforts.
Following the President’s Cup in the morning, the association will hold its annual general meeting, starting at 2pm, at the same venue. The current president is Deputy Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Fadillah Yusof, MP of Petra Jaya.
