Saske Cup 2008, made a second year enroute to Sarawak and on Sunday the CUP will be played at Sibu Golf and Country Club. There are 25 qualifying rounds this year.

  1. THUMB UP ! Its a well done tournament. Congratulation to all the winners especially PGABS & Damai Golf & Country Club.

Mr Secretary, probably in future, we can post the score sheet for all the participants and not only the winners.

  2. Tuan Sec,
I did not see any reporters coming to make coverage. I heard Sibu is having their SASKE Cup too.

Anyway job welldone. The problem is:- you are Secretary, your are blogger, you are cameraman, you are the gross winner and also the ballsweep winner.

  3. Dear Anonymouses,

Thanks for the good words. I believe it will keep us going.
    1. I will try to publish full result once I get details from DGCC.
    2. Our publicity man will write reports to be sunbmitted to press.
    3. Yes I would love to be winning always but secretarial job is quite an uphill task. With all your support and your encouragement, we will try our level best.

  4. Just wondering on the flight draw. It seems that we are still playing with the same 'KAKIs'. KGS members will play among themselves and DGCC/PRISON/JUNIOR members seems playing among themselves too. This is a tournament and not our weekend game(s) or by invitation.

Sampei bila nak ngator2 flight tok? Maybe to avoid tense during the game OR because of UP, UP, UP kah...?

Anyway, SASKE 2008 for DGCC.....well done guys! First hole aku dah blow (2X OB), lalu hancus main aku ari ya. Still, I'm enjoying myself......

  5. Anonymous 8.25 pm,

Sorry to hear that you blew your first 2 holes.Well there will be another SASKE Cup 2009.

On flight arrangement, I believed DGCC was making their best to make ideal arrangement.Of course, we cannot avoid some request by certain people due to certain reasons. For example, personally, I would agree to put singles together to maintain competitiveness as playing with 28 handicapper may kill his focus. As golf is a game of gentleman, not only we expect everybody to be respected but most importantly must respect the rules and etiquette.

  6. Tuan Setiausaha PGA Bumiputera Sarawak,

Tahniah atas kejayaan penganjuran bersama (PGABS/DGCC)SASKE 2008.

    1. Maybe the Committee should consider a 24 genuine handicap and below is being allow to play at this prestigious tournament?

    2. Maybe the Committee should also make handicap adjustment/modify on those golfers who had won prizes with many many under? For example Chai Khai Tong, 23-handicapper champion nett category, have won few tournaments in DGCC (check his record/score with DGCC)playing many under and a\during normal days also playing under since joining DGCC in Nov '07 although he got his official handicap in Jan '08(handicap 29). I have nothing against this golfer but DGCC/PGABS should attain to this issue(s)to enable golfers alike play to their real capability & not just the score/handicap that maybe not posted correctly at the first place. Jika golfer itu tiap kali menang dengan score 4 to 7 under par for every tournament di DGCC & just join DGCC Nov'07, something is not right lah!!!!! During Labour Day Ball-Sweep on 1st May, Chia carded 4 under par! SASKE 2008 on 3rd May, he carded 7 under par!!!!!

FYI, isu handicap tok bukan nya baru, maybe PGABS Committee should champion & attain to issues immediately & set up a Committee to thrash the "HANDICAP" issues prior to any tournament especially that concern the sensitivities of PGA BUMIPUTERA Sarawak members!!!! DGCC amat 'lemah' tentang isu-isu bergini.

    HIDUP PGA BUMIPUTERA SARAWAK!!!!!!!

  7. Dear Anonymous May 05,

Thanks for your confident on PGABS. As handicap system is within the ambits of respectives clubs, our authority is to only acknowledged what is published. Like I said, golf is a gentleman game, therefore the onus to play the right handicap lies with the golfer him or herself.

Lets pray, a day will come our Persatuan will be able to handle the handicapping system. InsyaAllah.
