PGABS TAMED D.H. LEN'S TEAM

PGABS-MASJA registered 3-2 and won their first match against MAD-JUD in the KGS Team Matchplay starting Saturday 15 March 2008. It was real struggle by both teams with 2 matches went for dormie one. The other matches ended at 17th hole.

In the 4-some (alternate ball) encounter, skipper BJ and Saadi won narrowly one up against combination of Haji Leng and Rani Fauzi . The match dragged till the 18th hole.

It wasn't easy either for Haji Omarali and Haji Mohamad Sani who tamed combination of Abit and Haji Al-Hadi only at the 18th hole after a dormie. They were playing in the first 4-best ball.

Yusri Jumail, playing handicap 7 made it 3 after crashing reputable Cikgu Mail in their single encounter. However his mate Lokman, second single, was down 2 to handsome player, Haji Khir.

Second partner for best 4-ball, Datuk Mazelan and Zaidi Aliman was 3-2 down to MAD-JUD hard-hitter Datu Haji Len and Sarkawini Juni.

Analysis:
Both team were of equal strength and the winner could be either side. However strategic matching by captain BJ gave PGABS-MASJA an edge. Despite both team played their best combination, only a handful passed the mental test. They made mistakes they dont really made and they missed the green which was not suppossed to be. For instance, the game could have been easily won if Haji Omarali did not missed 1.5 feet putt at the 11th hole. Lokman created many chances but just could not sink any birdie. Datuk Mazelan and Zaidi went down to the best combination of Datu Haji Len and Sarkawini.
