PGABS Committee members goes "KURAP"
If today's performance is anything to fathom the PGABS performance in 2007, the success is yet to be seen. PGABS committee members HjZabidi, Bajuri Jaujie and Sarkawi Dora went berserk but ended-up skinless ('kurap') despite playing in a friendly weather condition at KGS. They were named the first casualties of 2008. There were 8 flights of PGABS-C30 members going for the 3 nett and one gross prizes.
The winners were Syed Azis and Hj Nasir Hussein captured first and 2nd places respectively while Willie Abang and Abu Bakar Suhai shared the 3rd placing. As expected Abu Bakar Kiprawi (5) won the gross category with 85 scores.
Staminaful, SyedAzis playing (handicap 20) carded one under 71 and HjNasir, (playing 12) returned with one stroke behind. Abu Bakar Suhai (17) & Willie Abang (10) both returned with 2-over 74.
The following were the most active golfers for the opening day of 2008:- Sarkawi Dora-100; Bujang Sefawi -102, AnuarAB-103, HjZabidi 103 and Ismail Ali- 116.
For record, Ismail Ali hit 11 strokes for hole 4 Matang and AnnuarAB came next with 9 strokes. Mohamad Lokman, the most improved golfer in 2007, started the new year on the balance with 6-over 78.
